The spiritual leader of the Primitive Church, Pierre Kas Kasambakana, was transferred to Makala Central Prison this Tuesday, January 23, 2024, following accusations of rape and forced marriage.

His detention follows his arrest and interrogation at the General Prosecutor’s Office at the Gombe Court of Appeal, confirmed by Joelle Kona Mbamba, Vice-President of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), at the Women’s Desk of ACTUALITE .CD.

The case emerged on January 8, 2024, when a video showing Pastor Kasambakana celebrating a wedding with an alleged minor in Moanda, Kongo Central province, went viral on social media. The image sparked widespread outrage, mobilizing several women’s movements who called for legal action against Pastor Pierre Kas.

The girl’s biological father also joined Makala in connection with this case. The pastor, already involved in eleven previous marriages, is known for his preaching in favor of polygamy.
