Reese comeback – pressure phase without reward
Our trainer reacted in terms of personnel, relying on Bouchalakis and Reese in the second round. It got off to a wild start: Tabaković aimed too high (46th), Marlon Ritter narrowly missed the third guest goal after a good solo (47th). Tabaković again failed with a great double chance from Reese’s cross, first to Krahl and then to the side netting (48′). Michał Karbownik also didn’t get enough pressure after his attempt from the left half (56′), Niederlechner shot wide following a Reese throw-in (59′). Pál Dárdai brought in other new offensive players with Smail Prevljak and Gustav Christensen.
Hertha tried, played, pressed. But Barkok and Kenny’s attempts from distance were also too high (65th, 68th). Instead, the Palatinate team coldly took advantage of the next mistake and made it 3-0 after winning the ball and quickly switching deep in our half, with Filip Kaloč executing.
