City confirmed their favoritism and beat Burnley 3-1 this Wednesday (31), at the Etihad Stadium, in a match valid for the 22nd round of the Premier League. Furthermore, the match marked the reunion of now coach Vincent Kompany against the club where he made history and became an idol in Manchester.
In this way, City maintains its pursuit of leader Liverpool. With the victory this Wednesday, the Manchester club reached 46 points and is now just two points less than the Reds. However, City have one game less than the team led by Jurgen Klopp due to the Club World Cup in December last year.
On the other hand, Burnley remains in 19th place, second to last in the Premier League. The team has only 12 points in 22 rounds and is seven less than Luton Town, the first club outside the relegation zone, in 17th place.
