RIYADH: Indigenization is being implemented in the transport logistics sector in Saudi Arabia. In around 28 jobs, a fixed percentage of indigenization will be completed. Through this, 23,000 jobs will be available for Saudis.
It aims to increase the contribution of Saudi citizens in the logistics industry. This will also make Saudi a global logistics hub. The Minister of State for Transport, Ahmed bin Sufyan Al-Hassan, stated these things at the third Qasim Youth Empowerment Forum.
Several initiatives have been implemented in the country to increase citizen representation in the sector. Saudi Logistics Academy and Saudi Railway Technical Institute are important in this. 450 people have currently graduated from the Logistics Academy. 23,000 jobs in the region will be made available to Saudi nationals.
The Saudi Railway Technical Institute trains citizens in train driving, maintenance and control of signals. The Minister said that this will help to implement indigenization in the region as well.
