Children with disabilities send a resounding message from the spot where Alkis Kampanos was murdered

by time news

Two years have passed since that day on February 1, when 12 hooligans took the life of Alkis Kampanos in Harilaou, eastern Thessaloniki, because he supported Aris.

Leandros, Yiannis, Spyros and Maya, as part of the “February 1st In the Name of Alkis Kampanos” structure, wanted to send a special message against fan violence from the spot where Alkis fell dead.

The four children were photographed wearing the jerseys of different football teams under his portrait and their pure words were touching.

“Alkis unites Greece horizontally and vertically”

10-year-old Leandros, who is visually impaired, wrote a poem in braille about Alkis, Nasos, Michalis and all the children who, he said, were lost to football. Leandros wore the scarf of his beloved PAOK and reminded that sports unite.

The same message was sent by Spyros, who is on disability, wearing the AEK jersey. The little boy said he feels good about being around the rest of the kids.

Little Giannakis, another disabled child, as well as Maya, the youngest member of the structure, also sent messages in their own unique way against fan violence, to the sounds of the song “Don’t hit me anymore”, the which was written for the deceased Alkis.

Earlier, flowers had been left at the spot where the 19 candles were still burning, which were lit shortly after midnight on Thursday at 00:19 in memory of the 19-year-old.

Alkis Kampanou’s father, Aristides, spoke to Leandros who told him that “Alkis may not be here, but he is watching you from heaven”.

“Alkis unites Greece horizontally and vertically”, noted in turn the founder and president of the structure, Lefteris Pappas and added that “Alkis unites us”, referring to the amendment of the Ministry of Sports for the establishment of “Philathlon Day” every February 1, which was upvoted by all the parties of the Parliament except Niki.
