“Idiots!” Legend defends Price against boos

by time news

Shortly before the start of the new Premier League season, darts legend Wayne Mardle defended the much-maligned Gerwyn Price. The constant boos against the Welshman are a thorn in his side. “I don’t think the viewer knows how nice he actually is,” the former professional told the Daily Star.

Once he got going, he went one step further. “The paying spectator only boos him because the idiot next to him does too. Most of us are sheep, they hear someone being booed and think they should join in,” Mardle rumbled.

That’s why he asked fans to stop booing Price. “As soon as they stop doing that, he will be cheered,” believes Mardle, highlighting Price’s outfits from last year.

There he wore clothes on every Premier League matchday that matched the color of the region or country in which the game was being played. “That was a great idea,” enthused the TV expert.

Despite the words of praise, the former world champion also thinks that Price partially got in his own way because “he was wearing headphones, earmuffs or whatever.” As a reminder: At the 2023 World Cup, Price temporarily played against Gabriel Clemens with ear protection to shield himself from the whistles.
