For the early hours of this Friday, a yellow alert for storms is in effect in the center and south of Buenos Aires and in the east of La Pampa.

The area will be affected by storms, some strong. They may be accompanied by abundant falls of water in short periods, electrical activity, occasional hail and intense gusts. The accumulated precipitation values ​​will range between 15 and 40 millimeters or more.

The towns in the province of Buenos Aires that will be affected are: Ayacucho, Balcarce, General Guido, Maipú, the northwest of General Juan Madariaga, the northwest of Mar Chiquita, the west of General Pueyrredón, the coast of General Pueyrredón, the coast of Mar Chiquita, General Alvarado, Azul, Rauch, Tapalqué, the lower area of ​​Benito Juárez, the lower area of ​​Tandil, Adolfo Gonzáles Chaves, the center of Lobería, the north of Coronel Dorrego, the north of Necochea, the north of San Cayetano , the north of Tres Arroyos, General La Madrid, Laprida, Olavarría, the north of Bahía Blanca, the west of Patagones, the west of Villarino, Puan, the lower area of ​​Coronel Pringles – the lower area of ​​Coronel Suárez, the lower zone of Saavedra, the lower area of ​​Tornquist, Adolfo Alsina, Daireaux, Guaminí, Pellegrini, Salliqueló, Trenque Lauquen and Tres Lomas.

Rain alert

The south of the country will be affected by rain. For Santa Cruz, specifically in the Güer Aike mountain range and the Lago Argentino mountain range, an orange alert is in effect for heavy rains during the morning. Accumulated precipitation values ​​of between 30 and 50 millimeters or more are expected. “The highest accumulations are expected in the highest areas, where precipitation can occur in the form of rain and snowfall,” indicates the report from the National Meteorological Service.

In the rest of the province, in the areas of the Lago Buenos Aires mountain range, the Río Chico mountain range, the Corpen Aike plateau, the Güer Aike plateau and the Lago Argentino plateau, a yellow alert is in effect. Persistent rains were forecast, some heavy, with accumulated precipitation values ​​of between 20 and 40 millimeters or more. The largest accumulations are expected in the highest areas.

In Tierra del Fuego, the non-coastal area of ​​Río Grande and the non-coastal area of ​​Ushuaia will also be on yellow alert during the afternoon, with accumulated precipitation values ​​similar to those of Santa Cruz.

For a strip that covers the southeast of Chubut and the northeast of Santa Cruz, a yellow alert for winds is in effect. According to the report, the winds from the western sector will impact with speeds between 45 and 70 kilometers per hour and gusts that can exceed 100 kilometers per hour, especially at night.

The southwest and northwest strip of the same provinces are under orange alert. They will be affected by winds from the west with speeds between 50 and 75 kilometers per hour, and gusts that can reach 110 kilometers per hour. “These values ​​can be exceeded locally,” warns the SMN.
