In the police’s IT department, we are facing an exciting time with digitization, new technology and many development tasks, with us, what you develop will contribute to creating security in people’s lives, every day. We are now looking for senior system developers with a focus on frontend who are ready to contribute to a safer Sweden by being involved in developing system support for police operations.

The police’s IT department has approximately 1,100 employees and is responsible for all IT used by the authority’s approximately 37,000 employees.

Right now we are looking for developers for our office in Stockholm and there is an opportunity to work up to two days a week from home. Job description

Are you an experienced system developer who is used to working with the front end? Are you used to working with TypeScript, Javascript and React and want an exciting challenge? Our systems are an essential part of modern law enforcement.

Our business has a wide scope with both self-developed and purchased systems. It can be about the development of:

  • The system support for the police intelligence service and the international systems
  • The system supports that support the operational activities, e.g. within intervention activities
  • System support for operations within investigation and prosecution, including forensics and IT crime.

In our IT department, all groups are responsible for the entire product life cycle, i.e. both new development, further development and management. With us, a day can include everything from participating in workshops with the business around new functionality, developing new applications with new technologies to fixing a bug that creates problems in the production environment, or finding the solution to a security problem.

We believe that knowledge about the needs of the business is best obtained through user studies and communication. In order to translate the knowledge into effective technical solutions, your work will be carried out in close cooperation with both our end users and other groupings in the IT department. Together in the team, you will develop user-centered solutions that help the police in the external service, the criminal investigator and the HR specialist to carry out their mission.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in IT, preferably with a degree, alternatively that you have equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority can assess as equivalent
  • At least 5 years of current and relevant work experience in system development with a focus on JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience working agile in cross-functional teams
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required.

It is advantageous if you have experience and/or knowledge in one or more areas below:

Platform:

  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • CI/CD pipelines running on Jenkins
  • GitOps

App Development:

Integrations against:

  • MySQL, OrientDB or equivalent graph database

Frontend SPA:

  • Python
  • Java
  • JBoss, SpringBoot, APIs
