Westvold Hansen in tears after another setback: – Getting a little scared
Gyda Westvold Hansen struggled in the air during the show jumping in Seefeld. On the TV broadcast you could hear her shouting out during the hover and with a jump of 91 meters she comes out in seventh place, one minute and 47 seconds behind Mari Leinan Lund.
After the show jumping, a tearful Westvold Hansen spoke to NRK.
– I’m not really disappointed or sad, but when I get a little scared, the tears come, she says.
– I become uncertain and a little scared when the conditions are as they are today. she continues.

Sports manager Ivar Stuan is surprised by what Westvold Hansen says.
– It is very unusual to see Gyda a little frustrated by what is happening. I think it was a bit brutal up there. It was a bit windy and the conditions were difficult, he says.
Westvold Hansen had taken 14 World Cup victories in a row, before she was beaten by Ida Marie Hagen in the last race in Ramsau before Christmas. On Thursday, Westvold Hansen revealed that she tested positive for the coronavirus after she returned home from Ramsau.
In 2024, there have been no victories again for Westvold Hansen, who had five races in a row without a win before Friday’s race. Due to the unusual “win streak”, she has also lost the lead in the overall World Cup to Ida Marie Hagen.
Mari Leinan Lund was the best in the show jumping in Seefeld. She goes out in front of the said Hagen.
