The case is being updated…

Økokrim chief Pål Lønseth informs this NRK.

It was Hamar Arbeiderblad and Today’s business who mentioned the matter first.

– I have already put all my cards on the table and have never had the intention of appointing someone I am incompetent to face. But I take note that Økokrim will go through the case, and I will of course answer any questions they may have, says Trettebergstuen to The daily newspaper.

The case was taken in for investigation on 24 October 2023, says Økokrim in a message. Trettebergstuen has the status of a suspect.

– I don’t think I have done anything punishable, and I look forward to the matter being finally settled, she says.

Trettebergstuen resigned as Minister of Culture and Equality after she had broken the rules of competence.

She had to resign after the appointments of Bård Nylund and Renate Larsen to boards associated with the Ministry of Culture’s portfolio. This was contrary to the rules on impartiality for government members.

Bård Nylund is a close friend of Trettebergstuen and is, among other things, the godfather of her child. Although she has not defined herself as a close personal friend with Renate Larsen, they were part of a group of friends who meet several times a year and are in regular contact.
