Music composer Ilayaraja’s daughter, playback singer and music arranger Bhavatharini passed away recently at the age of 47. Bhavatharini, who has sung various songs, also won the National Award for Best Female Singer.

He also made his debut as a music director in the year 2002 with the film ‘Mithr My Friend’ directed by Revathi. Subsequently, he composed music for many films including ‘Phir Milenge’ (Hindi), ‘Amritham’, ‘Ilakanam’, ‘Mayanadi’. The last film he composed music for before his death was ‘Puyilil Eru Dhoni’.

The film is produced by Romila Nallaiya on behalf of PG Pictures. Directed by Eason, the film stars newcomers Vishnu Prakash, Archana Singh and others.

Talking about the film, he said, “This film has emerged as a voice in favor of women. Even before I chose the story, I decided to have Bhavatharini as the music director. After I completed the entire film, I met Bhavadharini in person and screened the entire film. He also liked it a lot. He immediately agreed to compose music.

There are two songs in the film. Both were written by the poet Senekan. One song is sung by GV Prakash Kumar and Manasi. After a long gap music composer Karthikraja has sung a song. It is a historic fact that he sang the last song to be formed in the sister band. Also, Pinnani has composed the music very elegantly and well.

After a long hiatus, he was very much interested as the film was coming out in music. But before the release of the film, I never imagined that this would happen. Even now we can’t believe he is gone. She is the biggest strength of our film, the jewel in the crown of Bhavadarini. We will dedicate the success of our film to him as soon as possible.”
