A sector of the population believes that the pisco sour was created by Víctor Vaughen Morris, an American bartender and owner of the bar where he prepared the cocktail. However, historical documents refute this theory.

César Costa Aish, cultural manager and researcher of Peru’s flagship drink, announced the content of page 82 of the Culinary catalog published in 1903. “A glass of pisco, a spoonful of sugar, an egg white, lemon at your discretion pour them into a cocktail shaker, shake and then serve them in cocktail glasses, its name is little punch,” the printed material reads.
