Desert Vipers won the toss and elected to bowl in the match held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Gulf Giants scored 160 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. In the Giants batting line-up, Shimron Hetmyer scored an unbeaten 40 runs off 23 balls and Chris Lynn scored 31 runs off 27 balls.
In desert bowling, Mohammad Amir took three wickets and Vanindu Hazaranka and Matisha Pathirana took two wickets each and performed well.

Batting back, Desert overcame the target with six wickets remaining in 16.5 overs. Assam scored 50 runs in the Vipers batting line, skipper Colin Munro scored 51 runs in 36 balls and Alex Hills scored 44 runs in 30 balls.
With the win, Vipers are third in the points table with six points from seven matches, including three wins and four losses.
