Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq produces fossil fuels, not the emissions they cause.

The Minister of Oil said in his speech during a panel discussion on (Energy Security and Future in Iraq) followed by the (INA): “The countries of the year folded their papers at the climate conference in the Emirates and the world held its breath to reach a formula for the final statement,” indicating that “there is 800 million people lack electrical energy.
He added, “We must move to clean energy sources,” noting: “We produce fossil fuels, not thermal emissions.”
He pointed out that “the Holy Karbala Refinery Project is considered one of the environmentally friendly projects,” pointing out that “Iraq produces fossil fuels, not the emissions they cause.”
