Statement by the Head of Internal Affairs-Transparency on the winning of the gold medal by Evangelia Plataniotis
The emergence of Evangelia Plataniotis as world champion in artistic swimming at the world championships in Doha makes us doubly proud since she gave Greece the gold medal, honoring our national colors, but also our city Ilioupoli.
These successes, especially in the individual events, are the result of the personal hard work of the athletes, but also of the efforts of the coaches and the clubs to which they belong, as the conditions of training, preparation and participation in the games are adverse. The help of the state is considered imperative and will further highlight the continuous progress of Greek sports on a global level.
Congratulations and I wish you many more successes in the future!
