Coimbatore: The Avinashilingam University team won the overall championship title in the Professors’ Games held at Krishna College.
On behalf of the Physical Education Department of Sri Krishna College of Arts and Sciences, State level Sports and Games competitions for the college professors were held in the college premises.
Competitions like Cricket, Volleyball, Volleyball, Carrom, Throwball, Tennikoid and Athletics were held for the professors. More than 180 people from around 25 colleges participated.
Avinashilingam University team performed well in the matches and won the overall championship with 64 points.
The second place was secured by Sri Ishwar College with 45 points and the third place by Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Arts and Sciences College with 30 points.
Krishna College Principal Jagajeevan presented the trophy and medals to the winners.
The arrangements for the competition were made by the director of the physical education department of the college, Kumaresan.
