Pongal Festival in Nigeria | Dinamalar

The Pongal festival was celebrated by Tamils and Africans on behalf of Africa Muthamilkood at Darqua beach in Lagos, Nigeria. The Nigerian brothers and sisters participated in the ceremony with great enthusiasm by attending the ceremony in Tamil traditional clothes, Vetti and Saree respectively, greeting in Tamil and introducing themselves. This is the first time in the African continent that Africans and Tamils have come together to hold a cultural festival. Adhiamaran Karthik, founder of Africa Muthamilkood, said that there is hope to take it with great strides. Nigerians enthusiastically participated in the event. – Dinamar reader Athiyaman Karthik
