Paris triples parking fees for SUVs – France

The city of Paris will massively increase parking rates for heavy cars. In a referendum on Sunday, 54.55 percent of the population approved the project of the socialist mayor Anne Hidalgo. Accordingly, a parking space for SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) and similar vehicles in the city center should no longer cost six but 18 euros; in the outskirts it will be twelve euros. For example, if you want to spend six hours in the Louvre Museum, you will pay 225 euros to park an SUV in the future. The respective amount of the parking fee should be determined automatically based on the credit card entry at the payment terminal.
