Rapper Killer Mike Accused of Assault – He Walked Out of the Grammys in Handcuffs

The glitzy Grammys didn’t end well for rapper Killer Mike who was led away in handcuffs by police after accepting three awards.

The 48-year-old rapper won best rap song, best rap performance and best rap album, but walked away in handcuffs after a “physical altercation” at the glitzy Grammys.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told MailOnline that a man was being questioned without confirming his identity. According to TMZ, rapper Killer Mike has been arrested for assault.

“An adult male was taken into custody for a physical altercation that took place inside the arena,” the spokesman said, explaining that the altercation occurred minutes before his arrest. Rapper Killer Mike got involved with a security guard, according to TMZ.

“According to the preliminary investigation, the man is being investigated for assault. He will not be identified until he is arrested and charged if that happens.”

Video obtained by TMZ shows rapper Killer Mike arguing with security guards as he walked outside in the rain with someone holding an umbrella over his head.

Earlier, according to TMZ, Killer Mike had knocked down a security guard as he tried to leave. The footage shows the rapper trying to get past the security team who appear to be trying to stop him.

It appears that there was a heated argument, with Killer Mike pushing a security guard, trying to get past him. A little later the police handcuffed him.

As the rapper was carried back into the arena someone could be heard shouting “Free Mike!”.
