Journalist accuses Jacob Elordi of assault after unusual request, and Australian police investigate

by time news

Actor Jacob Elordi is being investigated for allegedly attacking a journalist in Australia. According to The Daily Telegraph, the “Euphoria” and “Saltburn” star was approached by Joshua Fox and was “enraged” with the questions he asked. Elordi is in his home country for the AACTA Awards, considered the Australian Oscars. The confrontation reportedly took place at an establishment in the coastal region of Sydney, last Saturday (3).

Elordi was reportedly approached by Joshua, producer of “The Kyle & Jackie O Show”, on KIIS FM, as he left the Clovelly Hotel. The journalist is known in the country for invading weddings on the reality show “Marriage at First Sight” and for the profile “MAFS Funny”.

New South Wales Police confirmed they are investigating the incident. “Officers attached to the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Police were informed at around 3.30pm on Saturday 3 February 2024. A 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man was not injured. Investigations into the incident continue.”authorities said in a statement to Variety.

According to Fox’s report, on the program this Monday morning (5), he asked Elordi if the actor could give some of the “bath water” to Jackie O on her birthday – a reference to the viral “Saltburn” scene. “You’re kidding me, right?”, asked Jacob, while reading the label on the container. When he noticed he was being filmed, the actor asked the journalist to stop and delete the recording.

“I’m leaning against the wall, he’s right in my face and his two friends are next to me. It was kind of scary. I felt intimidated, and Jacob demands that I delete the footage. A switch was turned off and he became quite aggressive. It says, ‘Go to your recently deleted folder.’ I’m thinking, if I delete this footage, there will be no evidence that this encounter ever happened.”reported Joshua Fox.

The situation, however, reportedly worsened afterwards. “I refuse because I feel uncomfortable and this is the only evidence of what happened. Jacob kind of pushes me against the wall and grabs me by the throat,” continued.
