The court deducted a point for Maccabi Tel Aviv. The prosecutor continued: “There is no dispute that we are committing an offense of aggravating circumstances. Firing fireworks in direct formation and flares that caused the game to be stopped. Let’s say that during a football game a crowd of fans is angry about a referee’s decision and throws chairs on the grass. This is a serious case. Someone firing fireworks into the grass is very serious. There were over 20 Flares at Maccabi Tel Aviv, the expectation to count flare-flare is unreasonable.”
The representative of Maccabi Tel Aviv, attorney Yael Margalit, said: “From the prosecutor’s point of view, even if there was no Lucasan case, the court has the authority to hand down punishments that are in the statute. Margalit commented on the issue of the amount of flares: “The prosecutor did not prove that it was an insufficient extension of flares (the plaintiff claims that there were more than 15 flares). If the court decides to punish, we will present similar cases in the past of aggravating circumstances without injury that only a fine was awarded for fan riots under aggravating circumstances.”
