With King Charles III. has been diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace announced on Monday evening. It is not prostate cancer, but the new disease was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate, as the BBC reports.
The palace is once again dealing with the illness unusually openly. It is not known exactly what form of cancer Charles (75) has and how advanced the disease is. It’s not supposed to be prostate cancer. Actually, medical information is generally considered private. When Charles’ daughter-in-law Princess Kate (42) recently underwent abdominal surgery, the diagnosis remained secret.
The king decided to inform about his diagnosis in order to avoid speculation, the palace said. In addition, according to the statement, Charles hopes to raise more understanding for all those around the world who are themselves suffering from cancer. Charles is said to have informed his two sons, heir to the throne Prince William and Harry, as well as his siblings about the diagnosis.
