The type of cancer was not revealed, but, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace, King Charles III has already started treatments.

King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
The palace explains that the cancer is not related to the king’s recent treatment for a benign prostate disease, but was discovered during hospitalization at the London Clinic.
The note reads that “a separate issue of concern was noted” during Carlos’ treatment for an enlarged prostate last month and that “diagnostic tests identified a form of cancer.”
Buckingham Palace also reports that Charles III “started a program of regular treatments today, during which he was advised by doctors to postpone his public activities”.
“During this period, Her Majesty will continue to deal with state affairs and official paperwork as usual”, it adds, and “remains completely positive about your treatment and looks forward to returning to her public duties as soon as possible”.
No further details about the stage of the cancer or prognosis were released.
