BAVARIA. In August 2023, Alfons Schuhbeck began his prison sentence in the Landsberg prison due to tax evasion. Now the popular celebrity chef has been transferred to a prison near Lake Ammersee.

In October last year, celebrity chef Alfons Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in prison for tax evasion amounting to millions. On August 23, 2023, the popular chef began his sentence in the Landsberg am Lech correctional facility.
Schuhbeck has now been moved to the Andechs-Rothenfeld JVA, a branch of the Landsberg JVA. According to the German “Bild-Zeitung”, the prominent restaurateur there is an outdoorsman. According to the “Bildzeitung”, this transfer, including relief from prison, was approved because Schuhbeck behaved well and also worked voluntarily in the prison library. In the new institution near Lake Ammersee, the star chef is even allowed to leave prison temporarily.
Former FC Bayern president Uli Hoeneß was transferred to the Rothenfeld prison in 2015 after seven months in prison. He was also housed there in a relaxed prison system. This prison is considered a transition to freedom.
