Reliwe Breaks Ground on 300 Rental Units and Business Premises in Barkarby, Stockholm’s New Urban Environment

by time news

Property developer Reliwe has broken ground on a block of 300 rental units and premises for businesses in the new urban environment emerging in Barkarby, next door to Stockholm’s new hub for public transport.

The block has a central location in the new district. With only 50 meters to the subway and a five-minute walk to the new junction that is emerging with regional trains, long-distance trains, subway, bus and commuter train at Barkarby station, the residents get a golden location in Stockholm and Mälardalen.

– That Reliwe chooses to invest in these tough times is proof that Barkarby is a place with faith in the future. The neighborhood has a fantastic location where the residents are within walking distance of lovely city life and Stockholm’s new hub for public transport. We wish Reliwe a warm welcome to Barkarby and look forward to a good collaboration to develop the sustainable urban environment of the future, says Eva Ullberg, (S) chairman of the municipal board in Järfälla

Barkarby continues to grow with new blocks on both sides of the E18. Reliwe’s quarter is the second to start construction in the urban development that, over the next ten years, will transform Veddesta’s old center and industrial area into a vibrant urban environment with thousands of homes, offices, restaurants, hotels and facilities for sports, health and culture.

– We look forward to seeing this project grow. We have had a very good cooperation with Järfälla municipality during the initial phase of the development and are sure that it will continue. The municipality has had an efficient and clear way of working that has made this project possible, says Anders Whass, partner at Reliwe.

Reliwe plans to environmentally certify the block according to Miljöbyggnad Silver. First occupancy is estimated for 2026.
