On February 29, the Khankendi-Baku ultramarathon starts for the first time.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports reported this to İdman.biz.

It is reported that the participants of the ultramarathon, which starts from the city of Khankendi, will reach the finish line in Baku, having covered 380 kilometers.

The competitions, which are organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports together with the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, will be held as part of the “Sports Week” and the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World.”

Ultramarathon participants must run the stages Khankendi – Yevlakh (83 km), Yevlakh – Ujar (84 km), Ujar – Hajigabul (88 km), Hajigabul – Gobustan (70 km) and Gobustan – Baku (55 km), and finish in capital. The winners of each stage will be awarded separately. The winners of the ultramarathon will be awarded the main prize.

Anyone over 18 years of age who wants to join the ultramarathon, which will be held under the slogan “Forward with Pride,” can become a participant in the historical event by registering via the link before 02/20/2024.
