Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said Bangladesh and Iran are loyal friends and important partners. Our friendship will grow further in the days to come through enhanced and meaningful engagement in various sectors.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the 45th anniversary celebration of the Islamic Revolution (National Day) in Iran at a hotel in Gulshan in the capital on Thursday (February 8) evening.

The Environment Minister said that the new government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to work together with all the friendly countries of the Middle East, including Iran. We can benefit through mutual cooperation.

He said that in addition to cooperation at the government level, the private sectors of the two countries should be more active in coordination for mutual benefit. I invite Iranian entrepreneurs to visit Bangladesh to take advantage of this opportunity. Long-term special benefits are given to investments in infrastructure, power and energy, agribusiness, RMG, tourism sectors in Bangladesh.

Iranian Ambassador Mansoor Chavoshi congratulated the newly formed Bangladesh government. He highly praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership. The ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to strengthen relations with Bangladesh. He also thanked the representatives of various countries, dignitaries and senior government officials present on the occasion.
