“Continuing the Change” – “Democratic Bulgaria” – “Save Sofia” are trapped from the very beginning, as we do not have 31 councilors in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, and this is an extremely big challenge for us. But what has been happening in recent days, a new opposition majority was born, because the opposition managed to come together and generate something that no one had expected – PP-DB MP Ivaylo Mirchev commented to BNT.
“Our appeal from the very beginning was – yes, it’s difficult, we don’t like each other, as well as in the parliament, there’s no secret here. And in the parliament we don’t like each other very much, and in the SOS we don’t like each other. If you think that in the assembly or outside someone likes someone else, but both in the parliament and in the SOS, the situation reflects public sentiments. Nothing different from what we have in society,” stressed Mirchev.
According to him, the difference is that in SOS it is very difficult to make new elections:
“While we had 5 elections in 2 years that did not lead to much, in SOS it is much more difficult to happen. It is possible and there are options for this, but Sofians voted to dismantle this old model and they voted for people who should lead Sofia forward.”
Ivaylo Mirchev expressed hope that reason will prevail in the SOS, so that it will work and the necessary reforms will take place.
