The UN Security Council (SC) must be reformed due to its inability to effectively resolve international crises.
As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, this was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
“Today’s events [в мире]especially in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli occupation regime [совершает] genocide, have clearly shown that the United Nations, mainly the Security Council, is ineffective in fulfilling its responsibilities. We consider it absolutely necessary to pay attention [развитию] multilateralism and reform of the structure of the Security Council and the UN,” the minister said in a video message on the eve of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran. Abdollahian added that “crises, uncertainty, the expansion of the scale of war and instability in many regions of the world” are the result of the unilateral approach of a number of states to resolve issues in the international arena.
