Today, Friday, the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense announced the arrest of 3 drug traffickers and the arrest of 9 violators of residency requirements of foreign nationalities in Baghdad.
A statement by the directorate, received by the (INA), said: “With painful and successive strikes on organized crime gangs and drug traffickers and through intelligence information, the detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, were able to overthrow three drug dealers and dealers in various areas of the city.” In the capital, they were found in possession of narcotic substances and drug paraphernalia, and arrest warrants were issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) “Narcotics.”
The statement added, “The accused were handed over with the seized items to the relevant authorities, while the aforementioned directorate’s detachments were able to arrest (9) violators of residency requirements of foreign nationalities in the Camp Sarah area in Baghdad, entering the country illegally, as they were duly handed over to the competent authorities.” “.
