Florida – Two people have died after a small plane attempted to make an emergency landing in southwest Florida. The plane crash landed on Pine Ridge Road (state highway) in Collier County. The plane would hit a car traveling on the road and then crash into a nearby wall and explode. Briana Walker, a passenger who passed by the scene, said that the wing of the plane hit the car and then crashed into a nearby wall. Brianna Walker and her friend were riding right behind the car that crashed.

“The car in front of us was burnt. Escaped in seconds. The plane overhead was skidding to the right. A loud explosion followed. Pieces of the plane littered the highway. Briana Walker said, “It feels like a movie story that you can’t believe you’ve escaped death.”

The Bombardier Challenger 600 jet crashed around 3:30 pm local time on Friday. There were five people on the plane. Three people were admitted to the hospital with injuries. The plane took off from the airport at Ohio State University in Columbus around 1:00 p.m. The flight was supposed to land in Naples. But due to engine failure, an emergency landing was attempted.

The flight was operated by Hop-A-Jet Worldwide Charter, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The incident will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. The investigation team reached the spot and collected information. The preliminary report will be submitted within thirty days. The authorities have announced that the road where the accident happened has been closed and people should travel through alternative routes.
