Romanian police officers found during searches yesterday in the cities of Constanta and Navodari more than 5.2 million tablets and 50,000 ampoules with doping substances worth about 3 million euros, and two people were arrested, the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police announced, quoted by Agerpress.

During searches of 36 residences on February 10, the police in Constanta found and seized 220 boxes in which 5,245,960 tablets and 51,557 ampoules containing doping substances worth about 3,000,000 euros were found, the inspectorate said in a statement.

An analysis of the substances revealed that 70 percent of the seized products were high-risk doping substances.

At the same time, around 470 packs of cigarettes without a banderol were found during the searches, as well as 28,000 Romanian lei, 14,700 euros, 1,500 Turkish lira, 640 dollars and 120 British pounds.

11 people were taken to the headquarters of the District Police in Constanta for questioning, one man aged 31 and one woman aged 29 were detained for 24 hours on suspicion of illegal production, processing, distribution and sale of high-risk doping substances and products containing such substances.
