Jose Luis Medilibar is officially the new coach of Olympiakos, with the red and whites announcing his appointment.
It is now official, the Jose Luis Mediliber era begins at Olympiakos. The red-and-white PAE announced the hiring of the 62-year-old coach, who has been in Greece since Saturday (10/2) and watched the match against OFI, even shaking hands with Vangelis Marinakis in the “Karaiskakis” suites.
Mendilibar was on the Sevilla bench until last October, having taken over at the end of the previous season. In fact, he led the Spanish team to win the Europa League and was at “G. Karaiskakis” last August, as Sevilla’s coach, in the Super Cup final against Manchester City, which was decided on penalties in favor of the English.
He is one of the most experienced Spanish technicians, with a large presence on La Liga pitches, with Eibar prominent, on whose bench he sat from 2015 to 2021. Apart from Eibar, he has been on the benches of Bilbao, Osasuna, Levante, Real Valladolid and Alaves.

“PAE Olympiacos announces the start of its collaboration with the coach Mr. José Luis Medilibar Etcebarria. Born on March 14, 1961, in the city of Zaldibar, the Basque coach takes over the Legend coming from Sevilla, with whom he won the Europa League last May League.
He has coached 468 games at LaLiga level, with spells at Athletic Bilbao, Real Valladolid, Osasuna, Levante, Eibar, Alaves and Sevilla.
The 63-year-old coach took his first steps in coaching in the infrastructure departments of Athletic Bilbao, with the first team of which he made his debut in European competition, in 2009.
