The task of the next few months is to find out who were the patrons of Martin Bojanov – the Notary, as well as to take long-term measures against similar cases, announced the Minister of Justice Atanas Slavov on BBC.
He gave as an example the scandal with Krasio Chernia, which led to the dismissal of magistrates in the Supreme Judicial Council.
Slavov foresees that there will be consequences now, and among them he expects an effective investigation to establish who the guarantors are, to what levels the addictions reached, who are the magistrates who allowed themselves to fall into such addictions.
At the same time, Atanas Slavov explained that as a minister he has the authority to impose disciplinary sanctions. Therefore, for every magistrate who is in the so-called list of people who had an access card to the famous SS club, for anyone who used their position as a form of pressure and racket, Minister Slavov intends to initiate disciplinary proceedings and offer his release.
The Minister also expects the Penal Code to be updated. The crime of “aggression” is now absent from it, and it allows for an investigation by a high military command. Most EU countries have exercised their jurisdiction to investigate crimes against peace and humanity in Ukraine, Slavov explained. Next week, he will sign in The Hague the Ljubljana-Hague Convention, which is for international cooperation in the investigation and prosecution of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and other international crimes.
According to Slavov, the rotation and change of prime ministers, as agreed, is in the national interest, in order to speed up the reforms, and not block them with new elections.
