The C919 passenger plane, which is entirely developed in China, will make flying demonstrations at the Singapore Airshow 2024. The show will run from February 20 to 25. This will be the first time the aircraft will participate in Asia’s most influential aerospace and defense event.

This year the airshow will be held at the Changi Exhibition Centre. It will offer eight aerial demonstrations, including one flypast by six air forces and those by two commercial companies, the hosts said, Radio China reported.

Teams from India, Australia, Indonesia and South Korea will participate in the air shows. The United States Air Force B-52 bomber will also fly during the air show, and the Singapore Air Force will send its F-15 fighter jet and Apache attack helicopter.

Lek Chet Lam, director of Experia and organizer of the airshow, shared that “flying performance has always been a key focus of the Singapore Airshow”.

“As the public was given limited or no access in the previous two editions due to safety measures during the pandemic, we expect strong interest in the show this year. We are especially excited to welcome our familiar favorites as well as the pilots and aircraft that will fly at our airshow for the first time,” added the director.

Commercial aircraft enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the flights of the Airbus A350-1000 and the Chinese C919 aircraft.

The C919 was developed by COMAC. The aircraft made its first commercial flight between Shanghai and the capital Beijing on May 28, 2023. By December 31, 2023, China Eastern Airlines’ C919 fleet had accumulated more than 2,200 safe flight hours, completed 655 commercial flights and transported nearly 82,000 passengers.
