“World Heritage Himeji Castle Marathon” in February 2015 = Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture

The World Heritage Himeji Castle Marathon Executive Committee announced on the 12th that some runners were unable to turn back due to delays in setting up cones to mark the turnaround point in the 5km section of the marathon held on the 11th (sponsored by Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, etc.). He announced that the race had been invalidated because he ran too far.

The plan is to refund the participation fee of 3,000 yen to the approximately 800 runners who entered.

According to the executive committee, the 5km course overlaps with the full marathon, and the plan was to set up the cones after all the full marathon runners had passed, but before they could finish, the 5km runners arrived at the halfway point. It has been reached.

The executive committee commented, “We would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who has been practicing so hard.”
