Sheba Hospital Provides Update on Condition of Rescued Abductees Fernando Marman and Louis Har from Captivity in Rafah

by time news

At the Sheba Hospital we updated this evening (Monday) that the condition of the abductees Fernando Marman and Louis Har is stable, but the signs of captivity and the lack of appropriate medical treatment can be seen on them. According to the descriptions of the abductees who were rescued during the night operation in Rafah and according to some of their medical measures, a suspicion arises among the treating officials that the two received medication at some point, but not the medication that was intended for them, contrary to the agreement for the transfer of medication brokered by Qatar and France.

The Deputy Director of the Sheba General Hospital and Director of the Detainee Complex, Dr. Yael Frankel-Nir, stated this evening that she was “happy to inform you that Marman and Har’s condition remains stable, but in light of the tests we conducted during the day, the signs of captivity and the lack of treatment during captivity can be seen.” Yes, she asked to consider the abductees and their families: “We want to give the families and captives the opportunity to digest the event.”

Natalie Afgan, the daughter of Lewis Herr who was rescued from Hamas captivity last night, shared her feelings in an interview with Oded Ben Ami this evening: “It’s a happy and shaking day. I’m still in shock, I can’t digest it at all that it happened. It’s really shocking. I’m still shaking all over. On the one hand I’m excited and on the other hand I think about all the other families. It shakes, it really shakes.”

She told about the happy and surprising news she received early in the morning: “The truth is that I got the call, but my phone was on silent and so was my husband’s. My mother-in-law came home and just woke us up. She told us: ‘You don’t answer the phone, you have to get organized. Get to the hospital We said: ‘What do you mean, which hospital? Why?’. ‘Your father is there’. I couldn’t believe it, I was really shocked.”

About the meeting with her father in the hospital, Natalie said: “The meeting was really emotional, we didn’t stop crying and hugging. I didn’t stop feeling him and checking that it was real, that I wasn’t in a dream. It’s just the moment I’ve been wishing for for so long. I still can’t digest it, not yet I believe that he and Fernando are back. They are weak, exhausted, need treatment. But it’s okay, they are strong, we will get through it. We are already planning his birthday celebrations on February 25. The whole world and the entire nation of Israel are waiting for him.”

When asked about the father’s condition, she said: “We still don’t know what his condition is, there is still weakness. He is still a little weak, so is Fernando. They are very thin. They have low and high blood pressure. It changes and it is complex. I hope they get out of it As soon as possible”.

Natalie made it clear that despite her father’s return, she will continue the fight to return all the abductees: “We have become one big family and we will not stop until all the abductees return. We will still return and we will be at the rallies. We are not leaving any family, we are one big family until the last of the abductees returns. We have connected with all Family and family. The abductees’ headquarters is our home, and we will be there to support everyone and we will not stop. After hearing what happened to them in captivity – we must release all the abductees now.”
