Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan discussed the implementation of joint projects, Day.Az reported on Wednesday with reference to the Kazakh Embassy.
According to information, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov received the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the country Alim Bayel. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for bilateral cooperation between the countries in the trade, economic, investment, transport, logistics and energy sectors.
It was emphasized that mutual visits of the heads of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as well as the official visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, which took place last year, gave impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation between the countries. Alim Bayel noted the continuing growth in trade turnover between the countries and emphasized the importance of maintaining this trend.
In turn, Mikail Jabbarov emphasized that economic cooperation between the two countries should not lag behind the political one. In this context, he highly appreciated the implementation of joint projects of great geo-economic importance both for both countries and for the entire region. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of infrastructure and logistics projects on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the transit of Kazakh oil through the territory of Azerbaijan, the work on laying a fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, as well as the agreements reached on laying a deep-sea electrical cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.
The parties expressed mutual interest in implementing joint projects not only in both countries, but also beyond their borders, in increasing the export of Kazakh grain to Azerbaijan and the supply of Azerbaijani fruit and vegetable products to Kazakhstan. New initiatives aimed at deepening economic cooperation were also discussed.
