Chennai: In 2008, Minister I. Periyasamy was accused of illegally allotting a house belonging to the Tamil Nadu Housing Board to a police officer who worked as a bodyguard of late former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

In this regard, the anti-corruption department had filed a case against I. Periyasamy, who is currently serving as the Minister of Rural Development, in 2012. Last year, the Special Court of Madras MPs and MLAs ordered the release of Minister I. Periyasamy from this case. As a review of this order, the Madras High Court has come forward and taken a re-examination.

In this case, while the trial of this case was held yesterday (Feb. 12), Judge Anand Venkatesh has postponed the trial today (Feb. 13) for the arguments of the anti-corruption department.

Following this, the case will be heard again today (February 13) before Judge Anand Venkatesh.
