| China backs Russia on NATO issue

Moscow: Russia joins hands with China to oppose NATO expansion to more countries. China and Russia have issued a joint statement on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China in connection with the Winter Olympics.

In a statement, Russia supported China’s position on Taiwan and opposed the island nation’s independence. Chinese support as Russia’s conflict with Ukraine continues. Ahead of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, Putin is holding talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Russia-China joint statement says NATO supports Cold War philosophy and is concerned about security arrangements between the US, UK and Australia.
