Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle manage even in these sensitive days, when King Charles is dealing with cancer, to go up to the royal house on the nerves. The two launched a new and problematic website to say the least and now those close to the palace are warning – the story will have a price

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle risk a new beef with the royal family – and at a particularly problematic timing against the background of the fact that King Charles, Harry’s father, is currently dealing with cancer. The reason: the couple decided last night to launch a new website that makes use of their royal title, alongside their glamorous biographies including the marketing of their latest activities. This, while apparently using the royal titles and symbols for commercial purposes – which is not going to pass muster in the kingdom, as the “Daily Mail” reports today (Tuesday).

A source close to the palace warned the British newspaper that “they will have real problems with the use of a royal title, and if there is a hint of commercialism it will just shut (the site). It’s just amazing that they can’t see how rude it is,” he said. However, a source close to the couple, who refuses to release them from their prestigious status, said last night that “Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, that’s a fact. That’s their last name.”

The Dukes’ new home page includes a photo of the two of them from September last year, during Harry’s dear Invictus Games, an international multi-sport Paralympic sports tournament for soldiers and veterans. But its launch sparked speculation that the two are trying to rekindle their media careers; Prince Harry (39) is described there as a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental health supporter and environmental activist”, while his wife (42) is praised as a “feminist and advocate for human rights and gender equality”.

In addition, the site displays links to another fundraising site, through the foundation the couple founded, Archewell, where, among other things, it states that the two are “shaping the future through business and philanthropy.” There is also a link there to another controversial website of the couple, which was launched in 2020 to slam their decision to take a step back from the royal family.

The new branding comes amid other talk that the couple are on the hunt for new production companies to work with after their multi-million deal with Spotify recently came to an end, alongside rumors that streaming giant Netflix will not renew their £80m contract.

As you may recall, after the palace announced the condition of King Charles last week, Prince Harry boarded a commercial flight and spent about 45 minutes with his father – their first interaction in about a year and a half. The last time the two saw each other was in September 2022, at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Where will the current crisis lead? We’ll see.
