Bulgarian swimming phenomenon Petar Mitsin ranked 14th in the world in the 200m butterfly at the Planetary Championships in Doha.

On Tuesday, the 18-year-old boy from Velingard had to cover the distance 3 times, which certainly affected his performance.

In the series, Petar gave an absolutely equal time with the Japanese Nao Horomura – 1.57.52 min. Thus, both of them were 16th and it was necessary to swim between the two.

In it, Mitsin led throughout the distance and won with a time of 1.56.91 minutes, bettering his performance from the series.

In the first semi-final series, Petar ran 4th – 5th, but eventually fatigue got the better of him and he finished 8th.

The time of 1.55.77 min gave our national team the 14th position in the final ranking of the discipline.

He was originally 15th, but last year’s world runner-up from Fukuoka, Poland’s Krzysztof Chmilewski, was disqualified.

Mitsit already has 2 Olympic quotas for the games in Paris – in 400 and 800 m breaststroke, as well as covered norm “B” in 200 m breaststroke.

He will continue to pursue participation in the French capital in the 200-meter butterfly. (24 cups)
