The Minister of Security of Argentina, Patricia Bullrich, addressed the issue of security control in the country and affirmed the Government’s interest in “adapting the Bukele model.” This comes after the re-elected president of El Salvador spoke out about the situation in Argentina and offered his collaboration.

“We have officially offered to Minister Bullrich, not advice, but the collaboration that they need and on all security issues—which is what we have discussed—but on any other as well,” Bukele had said on Sunday, before of the closing of polls, at a press conference.

In this regard, Bullrich said in dialogue with Infobae and other media: “We are interested in adapting Bukele’s model. Violence in Argentina is strong. Last weekend there were deaths in football, it was a summer with permanent fights, bandits. The gang model is complicated, but we see the increase in the level of intersecting gang violence, or confrontations in clubs. That violence, working on it, interests us.”

In relation to the possibility of receiving support from the government of El Salvador, he explained that it could be “technical”, that is, “how they managed to advance crime and legislation.”

When Javier Milei was inaugurated, the minister said, Bukele did not attend but his Minister of Security was present. “We had exchanges, a talk about the problem and how they had reduced crime.” It was from that first approach that they agreed to visit that country.

“We agreed to organize a visit there knowing that their problem is very difficult, very hard, but that they achieved a very, very important loss. I was surprised that my name came up, but it is clear that the minister spoke about it. We have not yet returned to the issue,” he added.
