More than 100 young people took part in the initiative – representatives of the Youth Guard detachments and students from the “Pencho Semov” Vocational High School for Tourism – Gabrovo. She is a member of the “Youth Guard Squads” association and the “Touch the Rainbow” association. The event was held at the Administrative Court in Plovdiv, the association announced.

The Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality, Kostadin Dimitrov, welcomed the attendees with the words: “It is a pleasure to welcome you to the oldest living city in Europe. It is pleasant when we have young people interacting. It is even more pleasant when we have personalities who lead various associations and organizations – to help young people. I hope this activity of yours will repay you and you will learn more about Bulgaria, Montenegro and the relations between the two countries”.

His Excellency Jelena Filipovich-Stoyanov thanked Dr. Denislava Angelova – president of the Association “Youth Guard Units” and of the “Touch the Rainbow” association for the opportunity to implement this initiative and for the vote of confidence. Her Excellency told the interesting history of Montenegro and the country’s European integration processes. She explained what her country’s policy is in implementing human rights laws.

This was followed by a presentation of the activities of the schools and guard units by the youth. The boys and girls distinguished themselves with enviable preparation and wonderful presentation skills.

Except during the monthly meetings, H.E. JelenaFilipovich-Stoyanov will also work online with the youth. The next Mentoring Program event under the title “Youth of Bulgaria and Montenegro – a bridge for new opportunities” will be held on March 1 in Veliko Tarnovo.

The mentoring program will be implemented as a joint initiative lasting from January to April 2024, and during the spring break of the students in Bulgaria – in April, selected participants will visit Montenegro for the purpose of exchanging cultural practices and traditions.
