The largest university in southern Bulgaria has been training students in natural, humanities, social and economic sciences, information and communication technologies for more than 60 years. The university successfully combines the traditions of classical higher education with modern innovative educational technologies. In 2021, it becomes one of the seven universities in the country with the status of a research higher education institution.

The official accreditation of PU “Paisiy Hilendarski” allows it to conduct training in OCS “Bachelor”, OCS “Master” and OCS “Doctor”. It trains nearly 14,000 full-time and about 5,000 part-time students in over 90 bachelor’s and more than 100 master’s programs.

The admission of students takes place in 9 faculties: Biological, Pedagogical, Economic and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Informatics, Physical and Technological, Philological, Philosophical and Historical, Chemical, Legal and in the branches in Kardzhali and Smolyan.

Application for almost all specialties is possible with grades from the state matriculation exam, without taking a competitive exam.

Submission of candidate student documents and application for participation in exams from the regular session will be possible on site in the Sports Hall of Plovdiv University from June 10 to 20 (including Saturdays and Sundays). The online platform on the university website will be available from 5 to 20 June. In the offices of CKPI and MEGI-STYLE, the deadline is from June 10 to 19 (including Saturdays and Sundays).

Candidate student exams in 2024 will be held in person from June 23 to 27. The exams for the specialty “Acting for Drama Theater” are held in three rounds – on September 11, 12 and 13.

The deadline for submitting documents for applicants with only DZI grades is from June 10 to 28 (including Saturdays and Sundays) at the University Sports Hall and from July 1 to July 4 at the University Information Center.
