Azerbaijan and Albania discussed gas supplies via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).

As Day.Az reported on Friday, the discussions took place during a meeting at the Council of Ambassadors of Albania with the new Ambassador of Azerbaijan Anar Huseynov.

Economic and cultural cooperation, projects and investments in the gasification of Albania through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), as well as investments in tourism were some of the topics discussed during the meeting.

It was also noted that the abolition of visas for Albanian citizens would be a good impetus for relations between the two countries and would serve to strengthen cooperation in all areas.

Let us remind you that TAP began commercial deliveries at the end of 2020.

At the end of 2023, Azerbaijan supplied 11.8 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe.

In July 2022, Azerbaijan and the European Commission signed a memorandum that provides for increasing the capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor from the current 10 billion cubic meters per year to 20 billion cubic meters by 2027. TAP will begin supplying an additional 1.2 billion cubic meters per year from 2026.
