“Sofia – World Capital of Sports”, Sofia Municipality and “Machirski Sport” invite residents and guests of the city to a Winter Family Holiday this Sunday on Vitosha. Several entertaining winter competitions and activities will be organized in the Ophelia area above the Golden Bridges on February 18 for the eighth year in a row:
– 11.00 a.m. family sled race
– 11.30 a.m. relay parallel slalom for teenagers
– 12.00 p.m. competition for making snow figures
– 12:00 p.m. fun games, competitions and quizzes with lots of prizes
Registrations for participation will be on site on the day of the Festa from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. at a point designated by the organizers. Participation is with own ski equipment and sleds. The winners will be awarded with prizes and medals.
The format of the sled race will be direct eliminations and will be determined on site according to the requests – descents for children with parents or relatives or descents for children only. The type of sled concerned will be taken into account.
The regulation of the ski competition is a relay parallel slalom with eliminations of teams, and each team will consist of three children – when the first one finishes, the second one starts, and so on until the final of their last teammate. The team finishing first from each descent moves forward to the next eliminations and so on to the final.
During the ski and board sports festival, teachers will give demonstrations and help little skiers improve their skills free of charge.
The program for the Festa foresees many more demonstrations, competitions, fun contests and quizzes with prizes and goodies. On the big meadow, fun games, a snowball fight, a tug of war, a contest for the most beautiful sled decoration, for a “snow look”, for the biggest snowball, for the most attractive rolling in the snow, will be organized. mountain songs on the improvised stage and fun competitions with lots of prizes and more. Professional animators and a DJ will help with this, who will take care of the wonderful mood and the many smiles on children’s faces.
A winter family holiday is dedicated to people’s desire to live actively, play sports, indulge in physical and fun activities in winter, enjoying the emotions that nature provides, supplemented with the pleasure of snow games. The goal is to motivate children to learn about and fall in love with winter sports and entertainment.
