Don’t go saying that the resemblance isn’t uncanny! Even if it has been discussed, it is difficult to question the choice of Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson and nephew of Michael Jackson, to play his famous uncle in the biopic which will be dedicated to him…
The very first image from the film, which the American studio LionsGate has just shared on its Instagram page, shows a very convincing Michael, with Jaafar clearly adopting the look and attitudes of his model.
“First look at the film Michael with Jaafar Jackson, in theaters in April 2025,” is the caption. LionsGate then specifies that “the photo was taken by the famous photographer Kevin Mazurwho covered Michael’s final rehearsal and became the first person to photograph Jaafar as Michael.
According to Variety – and fans will have undoubtedly already noted this – the photo takes up the exact aesthetic of Michael Jackson’s performance performing the song ” Man in the mirror » during his Dangerous World Tour, in 1992-1993. “Jaafar plays Michael like no one else could have done,” says producer Graham King.
We readily believe it, especially since we remember that in November 2023, the video of Jaafar rehearsing his role had already really impressed.
