A resident of North Ossetia received a burn to the esophagus after taking a sip of vinegar, which turned out to be in a new, unopened bottle of mineral water from Armenia.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, it is recommended to suspend its sale in the region, the head of the republic Sergei Menyailo said in his Telegram channel.

“Today there was information that a resident of Vladikavkaz received a burn to the esophagus after taking a sip from a bottle of Jermuk mineral water. Instead of water, the new closed bottle contained vinegar. I know about the situation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor’s Office, and Rospotrebnadzor have been involved in clarifying the circumstances,” – the message says.

24 packages of Jermuk water have already been seized in the republic, and the necessary operational measures are being taken. Entrepreneurs selling this mineral water are advised to suspend sales.

“I also appeal to the residents of the republic: until all the circumstances are clarified, do not use products of the Jermuk brand. Take care of yourself,” Menyailo noted.

The mineral water of the Jermuk deposit is located in the vicinity of the city of Jermuk in Armenia.
