The current Microsoft operating system has been compressed to record sizes. This was reported by Tom’s Hardware, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.

An enthusiast under the nickname NTDEV, who creates Windows 11 distributions called Tiny11, was able to reduce the size of the OS. According to the specialist, the size of the installation ISO image after all the manipulations was about 100 megabytes. For comparison, the original Windows 11 ISO image size is about 7 gigabytes.

To reduce the size of the OS to a record level, NTDEV had to remove all graphical interfaces and applications from the system. Despite this, the operating system remained functional, although it began to work very slowly.

After installation, the system began to occupy 1.91 gigabytes of disk space. By comparison, installing the original Windows 11 requires about 64 gigabytes of free space.
